John came to Australia from England and met Mohanna, who has Fijian origins, at work. As soon as he saw her he couldn’t get his eyes of her. And to get married in Fiji was an obvious and easy choice!
Ever since he still talks about the way she brightens every room with her bubbly personality.
They have two gorgeous children who live in England, and are now back in Australia. Their friends and family came from both sides of the world to celebrate their union in Fiji. It was such a delight and an adventure to capture their incredible day!
One hour before the ceremony on the Malolo sand bar it started pouring with rain… when it was time to head to the boat the sun started to shine again. The afternoon at Plantation Island Resort went really fast and when the speeches came it was so emotional I had to hide behind the camera to shed a few tears! Congratulations to the newly married couple. I wish so much for the fun to continue for ever after.
These are their words:
Why did you choose Plantation? How was your experience with the resort?
We chose Plantation for the children and the location.
Any tips to give for future brides about getting married in Fiji?
Fiji is so beautiful, I would advise brides to travel to the islands to get married as the water and beaches are so much nicer than the mainland.
How did you enjoy the day?
It was a very stressful day with the weather but at the end of the night everyone was happy and we have a load of beautiful memories to treasure forever.
Where did your flowers came from?
The resort provided the flowers, we had seasonal tropical flowers on the arch and tables and frangipanis for bouquets and head pieces.
What about hair and make-up?
Hair and Makeup was done by Stanley from Fiji Bridal Professional Hair and Makeup Services. He was amazing and I highly recommend.
Where was your dress from? Your shoes? And John’s gown? The rings?
The dress was purchased from a home based boutique in Australia. We chose not to wear shoes which was perfect for the sandbank ceremony and John’s suit was from Politix Australia. John’s ring was from Underwood’s Jeweller and my ring was bought in a set with my engagement ring in London, UK.
How was your experience with the photographer?
We loved our photographer, she captured everything we wanted and more. She worked well with all the guests and took every perfect opportunity for a shot. It was also great we didn’t have to wait long to get all our special photos back.
Anything you would like to add?
Everything doesn’t always go to plan, but if you go in open minded and willing to accept small changes you will have a beautiful day.
