Melinda and Jonny came to Fiji for an elopement / honeymoon. The perfect romantic combination! Jonny being a surfer they chose to stay at Tropica island resort. It’s only a 20 minutes ride from some of the best waves in the world (Cloud break, Namotu…). Combined together they have 7 children so an « Adults only » resort was a must 😉
Enjoy the viewing and here are a few words from Melinda about their experience at Tropica island resort :
Why did you choose Tropica? How was your experience with the resort?
We purchased Tropica on a Luxury Escapes package and then decided it looked like a perfect place to elope. We had previously planned to get married in Bali in 2020, but we were forced to cancel due to COVID. We are so glad that fate made us choose Fiji. It was perfect. The staff at Tropica were amazing. When the flowers for my hair didn’t turn up, one of the staff members rushed out and picked three perfect frangipanis and put them in my hair. I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect hair piece. We loved everything about Tropica and can’t wait to return again.
Any tips to give for future brides about getting married in Fiji?
We were very lucky that we had Usaia (our marriage celebrant) arrange absolutely everything for us. Make sure you have someone to coordinate all aspects of the wedding for you. It would be very hard to arrange by yourself from back home.
How did you enjoy the day?
We loved every moment of the day from start to finish. While I was getting my hair and make up done, Jonny went out and surfed off Namotu Island. Then after the wedding and photos, we joined the rest of the guests for celebratory happy hour drinks before a romantic candlelit dinner on the pier.
Where did your flowers come from?
The flowers were included in our package at Tropica. I forwarded them a photo of the flowers I wanted – tropical hibiscus, frangipani and orchids and they arranged it.
What about hair and make-up?
Team Perfectionist Fiji. I wanted a very natural look and I was very happy with the result.
Who were the entertainers (music at entry and exit of the ceremony)? What do you think about them?
Ziggy, one of the staff from Tropica, serenaded us with his guitar. It was perfect.
How was your experience with the photographer 😉 ?
Anais was the perfect photographer for us. She delivered exactly what we wanted for our elopement. I would definitely recommend Anais to any future couple 🙂
Bride’s dress : Shona Joy.
Rings : Natalie Marie Jewerly from Sydney.
