Kaytlan and Donald flew from San Diego (California, United States) to get married at Koro Sun island resort in Savusavu, Fiji.

The resort takes a short flight from Nadi international airport to access, which is every bit worth it. They landed in a lush paradise surrounded by rainforest and beautiful reefs.

The resort had organized a beautiful set with an arch and flower arrangement made of coconut palm leaf and ginger (tropical flowers). They even pimped up the buggy, which looked amazing as their private ride for the day!

Kaytlan’s mother had given her a tissue with words sewed in blue saying  »For happy tears », which she wrapped around her bouquet. The couple exchanged beautiful and moving vows and were given a warm blessing by the Fijian celebrant with a local prayer. All throughout the ceremony the staff was singing and playing guitar with their incredible choir voices. After the ceremony the Koro sun team gave the bride and groom a Salusalu. A Salusalu (pronounced as sar-loo-sar-loo) is Fijian for garland. It can be described as a necklace of flowers woven together by strands of vau (dried bark of wild hibiscus). A Salusalu is made from colourful and scented flowers and is commonly worn around the neck and presented to a visitor as a sign of one’s appreciation.

The day was sunny and we couldn’t have hoped for any better for our sunset photo session. We first went to the resort garden, which offers an abundance of greenery, a river with its lovely swing and a lake filled with lilies.

And as the sun went down we headed back to the beach and captured the beautiful show that mother nature gave us with beautiful reds, oranges and pinks in the sky; while the two love birds were enjoying their first hour of newly acquired status as husband and wife!
