Abby and Dylan met in High school in Germany, where they were living at the time. Since then they came back to live in the States and decided to get married in Fiji, at Savasi island resort. They have been absolutely thrilled by their experience in Fiji. These are their words :

Why did you choose Savasi? How was your experience with the resort? 

« My husband and I found Savasi Island Resort online and fell in love with the private, beautiful, peaceful, and unique location, accommodations, and activities.

We were immediately welcomed at the small Savusavu Airport by a Savasi staff member, who helped load our luggage onto the shuttle and drove us to the resort.

Upon arrival, staff members singing in Fijian greeted us warmly with freshly handmade leis and a glass of tropical fruit juice. Our belongings were taken to our rooms while we spoke briefly about the unique experiences offered.

Our wedding was carefully and simply organized, located on a private beach, with a square bamboo archway, freshly picked flowers (bouquet, boutonniere, and decorations), white drapery, and flower pedals enclosed in a heart drawn on the sand.

We dined on the same beach, with a beautiful view of the archway and the sunset. We owe our unforgettable wedding and honeymoon in paradise to the hardworking, kind-hearted, and hospitable staff members, both seen and unseen.

The management, dining, house keeping, spa, activities, etc. staff went above and beyond to accommodate any requests and truly made us feel pampered and stress-free. Everyone felt like family, greeted us as if we were old friends, and shared details about their culture in such an inviting way. Compliments to each and every staff member for staying true to themselves and allowing us to explore their beautiful island.

Upon departure, the staff members sang a beautiful farewell song in Fijian. We have so much love and appreciation for the people who made our experience extraordinary, especially Ma, Isaac, Ricco, Vito, and Jopa. We highly recommend Savasi Island Resort for a romantic getaway, wedding location, and Fijian adventure!

Any tips to give for future brides about getting married in Fiji? 

Make sure your wedding date is not on a Fiji holiday. If you are a resident of a foreign country, arrive a couple business days prior to your anticipated wedding date and have all documents prepared well in advance in order to avoid complications regarding obtaining a marriage certificate.
How did you enjoy the day?

We relaxed most of the day as all preparations were organized by the resort staff. Our wedding day was truly stress free!

Where did your flowers come from? 

All floral arrangements including the boutonniere, bouquet, and decorations were hand crafted with tender love and care by the staff at Savasi Island Resort.

How was your experience with the photographer 😉 ?

Anaïs is a genuine, creative, and professional photographer! She was incredibly easy to communicate with throughout the months leading to our wedding in Fiji. Prior to her arrival to our resort, she took the liberty of searching high and low for an item we needed from town! This was really special because we were unfamiliar with the location and unaware that almost every store would be closed on a Monday, in recognition of a Fijian holiday. She truly felt like an old friend once we finally met in person!

We shared stories of adventures and past experiences with each other over a delicious meal at the Savasi Island Resort and she gave us valuable insight about the local activities. It was also evident that she deeply considered our vision and style while taking our photos. We enjoyed her enthusiasm and friendly demeanor! We received our photos about two and a half weeks after our wedding and just got our beautifully crafted customized USB case!
