Candice and Andrew met when they were 17 online and have been inseparable ever since. Ten years later they finally tied the knot in Fiji!

These are their words :

Why did you choose the Shangri La? How was your experience with the resort? 

We chose the Shangri-la because it was on it’s own lagoon and located on the coral coast. The pictures looked amazing for weddings. We loved it, we had 40 guests stay with us at the Shangri-la, it just made the experience special to share with everyone we could all dine together. Not one complained and it was great for kids and lots of choice for dining. Not to mention Mr Mosese (the wedding coordinator) was great. He listened to what we wanted & he couldn’t do more for us.

Any tips to give for future brides about getting married in Fiji? 

The communication is slow (Fiji time).  So make sure you give yourself plenty of time to plan. Make sure you know what is included and double check everything. 

How did you enjoy the day?

We absolutely loved every little bit of the day. We are glad to go back and look at the pictures and forever remember it.

Where did your flowers came from? 

We brought our bridesmaids flowers back home in Australia at a shop called choice, they where fake flowers. My bridal bouquet was made fresh from the Shangri-La. 

What about hair and make-up?

We chose Totoka hair and makeup. I had Manshita do both my hair and makeup and I loved it, she listened to what I wanted and I had a trial the day before the wedding which I recommend because I could see how it felt and changed a few minor things. 

Where was your dress from? Your shoes? And Andrew’s gown? The rings?

My dress was from a  website called Joswen dresses, my shoes and veil where from jjshouse.com.au, the rings where from Prouds jewellers .

Andrew had ordered his suit from the UK.

How was your experience with the photographer ?

Anais not only took amazing pictures for our wedding, she made all of our wedding party feel very comfortable having her photograph us. Highly recommend her, extremely flexible with our options and highly educated professional and to top it off a very genuine person. We got all our pictures back quickly too. Couldn’t be happier!!
